Private practice placements

For the private practitioner, the task of coordinating a student clinical placement may at first seem overwhelming, and the benefits less obvious. However, the benefits of supervising students in a private practice mirror many of the advantages reported in other settings (Potts, Babcock & McKee,1998). 

Once you have made the time commitment to setting up the first student placement, and have found some positive solutions to managing the potential constraints to you in your particular practice, then you may be surprised to find that the overall benefits of a student placement can far outweigh the constraints and may even enhance the quality of your practice!!
